The Walking Dead series is only days away from the series finale episode that airs on AMC and AMC+ on November 20, 2022. As the fandom prepares for what the last episode will bring, AMC has released first-look photos at the 177th episode that will conclude the series story. But did AMC really spoil events that may take place in this episode?

This story contains speculation about potential spoilers for The Walking Dead season 11, episode 24, “Rest in Peace.” Turn back now if you don’t want to know.

AMC releases promo photos for the upcoming episode each week for the media to use in its reporting. Three photos were released that many believe could spoil some significant events for the final episode.

Fans have taken to social media to express their outrage that AMC would blatantly spoil anything that would take place in this episode.

The Walking Dead final episode

The promo photos in question feature Judith (Cailey Fleming), who was shot in the previous episode, and the newly returned Luke (Dan Fogler), who has joined the fighting at the Commonwealth.

The last fans saw of Judith, she was being carried by Daryl (Norman Reedus) in a semi-unconscious state with a bullet wound to the shoulder. She was shot by Governor Milton (Laila Robins), who was aiming for Maggie (Lauren Cohan), but Judith pushed her away, causing her to take the bullet.

In the two promo photos below, we see Judith awake with a bit of blood around her mouth. But are these really spoilers? Or were they released to throw fans off? If you look at her sweatshirt, there is no blood where the wound should be. Could these photos be part of a dream sequence she will experience while fighting off death? This would be a parallel scene to what her father experienced, and this season viewers have seen many throwbacks to previous episodes as the series comes to a close.

The following photo was that of Luke, who recently returned to the screen with Jules (Alex Sgambati). Jules was a member of Oceanside, and Luke followed her there after the Whisperer war. Nothing has been seen of Oceanside since Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) took over and was flipping a coin to determine their fate.

Luke and Jules would share that the Commonwealth took over Oceanside, but nothing is known about the conditions and if anyone died. We can assume things are probably the same as Outpost 22, formerly Alexandria.

The photo below shows Luke on the ground as our survivors battle the horde of walkers that infiltrated the Commonwealth.
