Fear the Walking Dead: Dead in the Water, now is a great time to watch

The Walking Dead universe is no stranger to spinoffs, with four already released and at least three more coming soon. Another interesting by-product of TWDU is some excellent webisodes or web series set in the same universe. While viewers wait for the release of the new spinoffs, it is a great time to take a look at these web series especially Fear the Walking Dead: Dead in the Water.
Dead in the Water is a six-part series that premiered in April 2022 exclusively on AMC+ and is currently available on YouTube. This series is a direct tie-in to Fear TWD and stars Nick Stahl, who played Riley in season 6 of that series.
You don’t have to watch Fear TWD to understand what happens in this series, as it takes place at the very beginning of the outbreak. But this story will lead to a significant storyline that happens during season 6 of Fear TWD.
Dead in the Water is an excellent example of how things were at the very beginning of the outbreak when people are trying to comprehend what is going on as the dead begin to rise.

Fear the Walking Dead: Dead in the Water
The story follows a group of shipmates aboard the USS Pennsylvania who have no idea what is going on topside. Since viewers learn in The Walking Dead series that everyone is infected, this means the crew of Pennsylvania isn’t immune, which can cause all kinds of issues on a submarine.
It is a quick series that gives an in-depth view of a group of military personnel and how they handle the onset of the outbreak. Things on board the submarine get bad and they aren’t sure if this is contained to the sub or is this a widespread outbreak.
This webseries is well liked because it takes place at the very beginning of the outbreak and viewers are always intrigued by this stage of the apocalypse. It is interesting to see how people acclimate, or not.
