The Walking Dead ranks in FanSided’s top fandoms of 2022

Fans of The Walking Dead series know that it is a fantastic story; while heavily focused on a zombie apocalypse, it is much more than an average zombie series. This series focuses on the lives of the survivors and all they endure. It is always exciting when The Walking Dead receives much-deserved recognition. This year FanSided has included TWD in its top fandoms of 2022.
Over the past seven years, FanSided has compiled a fun snapshot of the current year, celebrating readers’ favorite teams, players, competitions, movies, experiences, actors, music, television shows, games, and more. Be a part of the celebration by posting your favorites on social media using the hashtag #FandomsOfTheYear.
The list comprises 90 fandoms with special shootouts to 10 fandoms highlighted in the following areas: Fandom Most Likely to Brighten Your Day, Most Inspirational Fandom, and, of course, the Fandom of the Year.

The Walking Dead had a historic year in 2022, with the series’ final episode airing on November 20. Fans worldwide celebrated the series that has kept them entertained for 12 long years.
This fandom is unique because the members are part of TWD Family, which isn’t just a title; it is a way of life. Fans, cast, crew, and others involved in this universe are a tight-knit group who have come together as fans but end up being part of each other’s found family.

The ending of the series was surprisingly satisfactory, as many fans believed no ending could do this series justice. The conclusion didn’t really seem like the end, as several spinoff series are in various stages of production that will continue stories for several of the main cast members.
The Walking Dead universe has much to look forward to in 2023, with the first new series, The Walking Dead: Dead City, set to premiere in April 2023.
