Aaron has been portrayed by Ross Marquand since season 5 of The Walking Dead. He was first introduced to Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) as a recruiter for a new community called Alexandria. The Walking Dead series aired its last episode on November 20, 2022. Did Aaron survive the finale?

In the season 5 episode, “Them,” Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the group had been struggling after the deaths of Tyreese (Chad Coleman) and Beth (Emily Kinney). They had no home, and food was scarce. They took refuge in a barn during a storm, and the morning after, Aaron approached Maggie and Sasha. At this point, the whole group was very suspicious of strangers as they had encountered many evil people who wanted to harm them. Upon discovering that everything Aaron told them was true, they followed him to Alexandria.

Aaron becomes a good friend and leader among the group and eventually adopts an orphaned baby named Gracie.

The Walking Dead – Aaron

During the series finale episode, “Rest in Peace,” Aaron comes out as a survivor. Earlier in the series, Aaron did lose his arm, which was replaced by a prosthetic one to which he has acclimated well. His daughter Gracie also survives, and during the one-year time jump, it is revealed that they are once again living in Alexandria.

After the Whisperer war, Alexandria suffered greatly, and Aaron took it upon himself to rebuild. He felt very protective of this community as he had been there since the beginning of the outbreak and was instrumental in developing a haven for apocalypse survivors.

When a new community, the Commonwealth, offered resources to help rebuild, Aaron and the others accepted the assistance, but this backfired as the Deputy Governor, Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton), took over Alexandria, Oceanside, and Hilltop in the name of the Commonwealth.

Our survivors eventually come together with the Resistance members of the Commonwealth and overthrow Governor Milton (Laila Robins). Things have greatly improved in all of the communities in the one-year time jump, save Oceanside, who is never heard of again.
