Walking Dead to be honored at the Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame gala

Fans of The Walking Dead know it is a fantastic series that is more than just a zombie show. A series that has heart and draws fans into the characters’ lives and what they are experiencing in the apocalypse. In May 2023, The Walking Dead will be recognized at the Broadcasting+Cable (B+C) Hall of Fame gala in New York City.
On May 3, 2023, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, the 31st annual B+C Hall of Fame will celebrate pioneers, innovators, and stars of broadcast, cable, and broadband television. This year The Walking Dead will receive the honor of the Iconic Show award. Tickets are available for the event on the B+C website, with individual tickets starting at $3,000.
Others receiving awards at the 2023 event include Jim Nantz, Rachael Ray, Soledad O’Brien, and Al Roker. Previous recipients include Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil McGraw, Michael Powell, the cast of The View, Robert A. Iger, Dr. John Malone, and more.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit The Broadcasters Foundation of Amerian and The Paley Center for Media.
The Walking Dead awards
Throughout the 12 years that The Walking dead aired on AMC, the series, actors, and others received or were nominated for numerous awards.
Andrew Lincoln leads the cast with 22 nominations, followed by Melissa McBride with 14 and Norman Reedus with 10. Lincoln, Reedus, and Chandler Riggs have won the most awards of the cast members, each with five wins. McBride and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have each won four.
Walking Dead composer Bear McCreary has won seven ASCAP Awards, including one TV Composer of the year. In 2010 the series received a Best Television Series – Drama Golden Globe nomination.
Greg Nicotero has won three of four Best Special Makeup Effects nominations at the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards.
The series and actors have received a multitude of People’s Choice award nominations, with the series winning three and Lincoln and Reedus each receiving one. Of the sixteen Primetime Emmy Awards, the series has won two for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Limited Series, Movie, or Special.
