TWD’s Tyler James Williams wins Golden Globe for Abbott Elementary

Actor Tyler James Williams portrayed Noah on The Walking Dead in season 5. He was a courteous individual who saw one of the most gruesome deaths of the series. Since his days on The Walking Dead, Williams has been very busy with new projects. The most recent of those is Abbott Elementary which premiered new episodes of season 2 on Jan. 4, 2023, on ABC and Hulu.

Our heartfelt congratulations go out to Williams as he was awarded a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical-Comedy or Drama Television Series for his role as teacher Gregory Eddie. The series also won Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy while star and creator of the series, Quinta Brunson, also won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy.

The award-winning Abbott Elementary follows a group of teachers at the poorly funded titular school. Located in Philadelphia, the fictional school is being recorded for a documentary that features the lives of underfunded, mismanaged schools.

Williams and Brunson star in the series with Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and William Stanford Davis. Abbott Elementary has been met with critical acclaim, and season 1 received several Primetime Emmy Nominations and won three.

What else does Tyler James Williams star in?

Williams began his acting career at the age of four. He would voice a character in Little Bill and then star as himself on Sesame Street from 2000 to 2005.

His rise to fame came when he portrayed a teenaged Chris Rock in the semi-autobiographical sitcom, Everybody Hates Chris. This series also starred fellow TWDU actor Terry Crews (Tales of the Walking Dead), who played William’s father in the series.

Willaims is also known for his roles in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, The Wedding Year, Whiskey Cavalier, Dear White People, Criminal Minds, and more.

He will also voice an unknown character in season 4 of the animated series Harley Quinn which will see a release date in 2023.
