Walking Dead actress Rutina Wesley stars in The Last of Us episode

Actress Rutina Wesley is known in The Walking Dead universe for her portrayal of Jocelyn in season 9. Jocelyn was an old friend of Michonne (Danai Gurira) who was secretly creating a cult of children to do her bidding in the episode “Scars.” Welsey is well known for many of her memorable roles and will star in the sixth episode “Kin” of the wildly popular HBO series The Last of Us.
Wesley will portray a character named Maria Miller. She is a leader of a community in Jackson, Wyoming, that she started with her father soon after the outbreak of the Cordyceps infection.
If you have been keeping up with The Last of Us series, you know that Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) have been traveling to Wyoming to locate Joel’s brother. The upcoming episode preview shows that they will arrive at their destination, and Joel and Tommy (Gabriel Luna) will be reunited.
Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, HBO will premiere episode six of The Last of Us, and Wesley can be seen in the preview below.

Wesley is well known for her roles in True Blood, Queen Sugar, 12 Sins, and Arrow. She has also starred in Hannibal, Last Weekend, The Perfect Guy, Outsiders, and DMZ.
Deadline reports that Wesley will star with Sufe Bradshaw, Devere Rogers, Thomas Hobson, and Desean Terry in a new series, Moments, lead by showrunner Malachi Rivers. The story is described as a group theory session gone wrong. The series will tackle serious issues, including domestic violence, eating disorders, and abandonment issues, all while being guided by a mind-reading therapist and time-traveling partner.
