Fear the Walking Dead cast members recently held the wrap party for the series as it has entered the final month of filming. It was announced early in 2023 that the eighth season of Fear TWD would be the last and premiere in the spring of 2023.
Fear the Walking Dead is the first spinoff series of The Walking Dead that concluded its story in November 2022. This series, set in the same world as the original, would focus on the beginning of the outbreak and see the story travel from Los Angeles to Mexico to Texas. In season 8, the story will see another change in location as filming for the series moved from Austin, Texas, to Savannah, Georgia, for the last season.
Fan favorite Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) made her return to the story in the final episode of season 7 when she was discovered by Morgan (Lennie James) to be working for the mysterious PADRE organization. Long thought to be a haven, PADRE turns out to be something quite the opposite as Madison is employed to take children so PADRE can raise them how they see fit.
Fear the Walking Dead season 8 release date
AMC announced that Fear the Walking Dead will release part 1 of season 8 on May 14, 2023. PADRE will be a significant focus during the first part of the season, and many believe PADRE has some association with the CRM (Civic Republic Military). The CRM has been featured in the main series, Fear TWD, and the limited spin-off series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond. This is also the organization that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was traded to by Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh), and he was seen running from in the coda scene of The Walking Dead’s final episode.
Part 2 of Fear TWD’s season 8 will see a seven-year time jump in which our survivors live under the cynical rule of PADRE.
Don’t miss the season 8 premiere of Fear the Walking Dead on AMC on May 14, 2023.
