The Walking Dead universe is comprised of several series. Based on the comic story created by Robert Kirkman, the flagship series began airing on AMC in 2010. This would lead to the first spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead, which started in 2015 and led the way for several more spinoffs to follow. Are there any characters who have crossed over from the main series to Fear the Walking Dead?

The Walking Dead ended its 12-year run in 20222, and AMC recently announced that Fear the Walking Dead will complete its story with its eighth season, which will premiere on May 14, 2023. Although set in the same world, these stories are independent of one another and set in different areas of the United States and Mexico.

Morgan Jones is one of the first characters introduced in The Walking Dead series. Portrayed by the talented Lennie James, Morgan is featured in the pilot episode and provides urgent care to an injured Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). From season 1 on, Morgan comes and goes in the story, and in season 8, he decides to leave Virginia all together.

This leads him to crossover into season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, where he meets John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt). Morgan is still a vital member of Fear TWD and will play an essential role in the series’ final season.

Fear the Walking Dead crossover characters

Morgan isn’t the only character to crossover from TWD to Fear TWD.

The husband and wife team of Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) also moved their story from TWD to Fear TWD. Dwight would move over during season 5 of Fear TWD when he went in search of Sherry, and she would appear in season 6.

In The Walking Dead, Dwight was a former Savior who turned sides. Daryl (Norman Reedus), who had every reason to kill Dwight, let him go to seek out his wife. Daryl did this as Sherry aided him in his escape from the Savior’s prison. Sherry left before Dwight because she could no longer stand to be one of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) wives.

Their reunion on Fear the Walking Dead was a sweet one, and in season 7, Sherry discovered she is pregnant. In season 8, they will seek a safe place to raise their child. But the new teaser for the upcoming season shows that things aren’t as good as they hoped

for.
