Walking Dead newcomer Lesley-Ann Brandt rocks a Richonne hat
By Renee Hansen
You thought the Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) hand-holding reunion photo sent the fandom into a tizzy. Wait until you see newly cast Lesley-Ann Brandt’s new hat. Brandt was recently announced to join Lincoln and Gurira in the Rick and Michonne spinoff, Summit, as a character named Pearl Thorne. Well known for her role in Lucifer as Maze, she shared on social media, “I literally feel the fandoms merging.”
Brandt posted a new photo a day later, and fans went wild. In the photo, she is wearing a hat with images of Rick and Michonne etched in the style that Michonne and Judith were on the back of the iPhone found in season 10 of The Walking Dead. Likely a production merch item, the TWD store will be flooded with requests for this hat.
The Walking Dead Summit spinoff – Rick and Michonne
Summit began filming in New Jersey in February 2023. Scott M. Gimple serves as the showrunner, and executive produces with Lincoln, Gurira, Denise Huth, and Brian Brian Bockrath.
The series is described as an epic love story and will continue Rick and Michonne’s stories. The two have been apart for many years and have changed from the people they once were. But their love endures. Gimple has stated that fans can expect to see the return of old the red machete-welding Rick and warrior Michonne reminiscent of her Governor fighting days.
The series’s timeline has yet to be announced, so viewers aren’t sure when the story will pick up. Fans are anxious to learn more about this series which appears to be a limited one-season run. The season will have six episodes to flesh out their story and hopefully come to a satisfactory conclusion.
