On March 9, 2023, the latest installment of the Scream franchise was released in theaters. This time Ghostface follows the survivors to New York City. Did you know The Walking Dead universe has three ties to the Scream franchise?

The first one is by way of the spinoff series The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Actor Nico Tortorella starred as Felix Carlucci in both seasons of the series and also starred in Scream 4 as Trevor. In World Beyond, Felix lived and worked as the head of security for the Campus Colony located in Nebraska.

His character had a happy ending in the World Beyond story, but Trevor, from the Scream movie, wasn’t so lucky. In Scream 4, Trevor, like most of the characters in the Scream movies, meets a brutal end. He was killed by his ex-girlfriend Jill (Emma Roberts) in a death that she arranged to look like self-defense. Trevor’s character was based on Billy Loomis from the original Scream movie, played by Skeet Ulrich.

Another Walking Dead tie to the Scream franchise comes from voice actor Roger Jackson. He is known for his work on The Walking Dead: Telltale Game Series as the voices of Charles “Chuck,” Logan, and Stranger. In the Scream franchise, Jackson is known as The Voice, who voices Ghostface. He has voiced Ghostface in all six movies, one episode of The Kill Count, an episode of Robot Chicken, Call of Duty: Block Ops Cold War & Warzone, and the Netflix Scream series. His IMDB has over 200 voice parts listed throughout his career, including  Mojo Mojo in The Powerpuff Girls, the original Mr. Mucus for Mucinex.

Kyle Gallner portrayed Zach in season 4 of The Walking Dead as the boyfriend of Beth (Emily Kinney). He is the character who tried to guess what occupation Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) had before the outbreak. He was killed by a walker during the supply run at the Big Spot in the episode “30 Days Without An Accident.” In 2022 he would star in the fifth Scream installment as Vince Schneider, the first character killed in this movie.

It is always interesting to find ties to The Walking Dead and other franchises.
