The Walking Dead Universe RPG is LIVE on Kickstarter

A press release from Free League Publishing announced that the official The Walking Dead Universe Roleplaying Game is live on Kickstarter. Crowdfunding for the tabletop roleplaying game has already met its first funding goal and is now beginning a new campaign for a long list of stretch goals. These items include an Atlanta area map, custom dice, a threat meter, and many more.

On March 15, at 12 p.m. ET, there will be a Q&A session with Free League game director Mattias Johnsson Haake and Genuine Entertainment brand manager Joe LeFavi. This session will answer questions from the community, and the pair will chat about The Walking Dead Universe RPG.
The game is set up so players will immerse themselves into a hostile world as they play as a survivor struggling to stay alive. They will be met with challenges, including lacking essential supplies, conflicts brewing within the group, hidden construction flaws in your haven, or approaching walkers hungering for your flesh.
There are two playing options Campaign and Survival Mode. Campaign mode uses goals and choices with the group’s efforts to determine the storyline and outcome. In Survival mode, there is an immediate danger that needs to be addressed that often features locations and characters from the series. New story elements will be introduced, but many will be inspired by the series and the spinoffs currently in production.

The Walking Dead RPG is being co-produced by AMC Networks, Free League Publishing, and Genuine Entertainment, who are working closely with Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe, Scott M. Gimple, and Head of AMC Networks Publishing, Mike Zagari.
“The Walking Dead has always been about characters – and audiences, by extension – facing impossible life and death choices,” says Gimple. “Now, fans can face these choices head-on, putting themselves in the world of the Walking Dead – at any time in the timeline, encountering familiar faces and places and brand-new ones and, within our apocalypse, making the biggest choice: Who are you going to be? We’ve seen a lot of stories in the Walking Dead Universe, now it’s time to see yours.”
