Fear the Walking Dead season 8 will be released in two six-episode parts. This season will be the final of the series, and experience and seven-year time jump. Fans are excited to see what’s in store for the final chapter of this storyline while dreading the end of their favorite series. The eighth season will see massive changes for many characters, including Sherry (Christine Evangelista) and Dwight (Austin Amelio).

Sherry and Dwight are two characters within The Walking Dead universe who have crossed over from one series to another. These characters began their journeys in The Walking Dead and eventually crossed to Fear TWD. They have always been a romantic couple, always seeming to be in love, and Dwight never stopped searching for her while they were apart. But after they found one another again, Sherry had been very different.

During season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead, Sherry & Dwight experienced a lot. In addition to living in a nuclear wasteland, the couple would start the ethical outlaws known as the Dark Horses. By the end of the season, they decided they wanted to recommit to their relationship and start a family. Sherry discovered she was pregnant, and they decided they needed to flee Texas to find a safe place to raise their child.

Christine Evangelista attended this year’s WonderCon 2023, and Comics Beat shared some of what was discussed at the press junket that day. Evangelista shared that the beginning of this season will center around Sherry being a mother and “how it motivates her decisions and actions.” She also stated, “All the lessons that she’s learned in life and with Dwight inform all her decisions moving forward in the final season. It has this beautiful culmination of all the lessons we’ve learned.”

The seven-year time jump will see their child at about six years old, which will be an exciting change in the story. The survivors, including their little family, will all reside at PADRE, which was once thought of as a haven but turned out to be an organization that kidnaps and trains children for some yet-to-be-revealed purpose.

If anyone deserves a happy ending, it is Sherry and Dwight. They endured Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the Saviors, and so much more since crossing to Fear the Walking Dead.

The trailer for season 8 features Sherry & Dwight in some dangerous situations; let’s hope they and their child all make it out alive.

Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC+ on May 11 and AMC on May 14, 2023.
