AMC has a long line of spinoffs coming within The Walking Dead universe. The three new upcoming series, Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and Rick & Michonne, will feature characters from the main series, but several other spinoffs feature new characters. Recently EGOT winning actress Viola Davis told Indiewire that she would love to do a zombie movie, so why not a Walking Dead series instead?

Davis stated, “…I want a ‘Train to Busan.’ I want my version of ‘Train to Busan.’ I want to fight some zombies. That’s what I want to do.” With the upcoming spinoffs in the works and more on the way, there would be plenty of room to introduce Davis into TWDU. She would be a fantastic addition.

She has starred in some truly unforgettable roles, including Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, The Help, Doubt, The Woman King,  Prisoners, How to Get Away with Murder, Troop Zero, The Unforgivable, and the list goes on.

The Walking Dead universe – Viola Davis

Viola Davis could easily slip into an episode of More Tales of the Walking Dead, the newly announced short-form series. This will likely be set up as an anthology series as Tales of the Walking Dead, which premiered in August 2022. These standalone stories opened the door for many actors to join TWDU without a long-term commitment. Actors in this series included Oliva Munn, Jessie T. Usher, Danny Ramirez, Loan Chabanol, Embeth Davitz, Lauren Glazier, Daniella Pineda, Terry Crews, Anthony Edwards, Poppy Liu, Parker Posey, Julian Bell, Matt Medrano, and Scarlett Blum.

Davis would be a fantastic actress in an undead thriller series or film. So AMC should snag her quickly before someone else does.
