Colman Domingo and Corey Hawkins nominated for Tony Awards

The Hollywood Reporter has announced the list of nominees for the 2023 Tony Awards, and two Walking Dead universe actors are on the list. Colman Domingo as a producer for Fat Ham, and Corey Hawkins as an actor in Topdog/Underdog.
Domingo is well known in TWDU for his portrayal of Victor Strand in Fear the Walking Dead. This series will premiere its eighth and final season on AMC on May 14. Domingo is a producer on the Broadway production of Fat Ham, a play written by James Ijames and directed by Saheem Ali.
The play follows Juicy, a young queer black man, who, during a barbecue, is confronted by the ghost of his father. The ghost demands that Juicy avenge his murder, but remembering Hamlet’s plight, he tries to break free of trauma and violence.
The play has been nominated for five Tony Awards, Best Play, Direction of a Play – Saheem Ali, Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play – Nikki Crawford, Costume Design in a Play – Dominique Fawn Hill, and Lighting Design of a Pay – Bradley King.
Colman was previously nominated for a Tony for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for The Scottsboro Boys in 2011.

Corey Hawkins nominated for a Tony Awards
Hawkins is known for his role as Heath on The Walking Dead, and recently he starred in the Broadway revival production of Topdog/Underdog that ran from October 2022 until January 2023.
The story follows two brothers, Lincoln and Booth (Hawkins and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), jokingly named by their father, in a darkly comic fable of brotherly love and identity. Their past haunts them, and they are obsessed with a street con game, three card monte.
Hawkins is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play. Other nominees include his co-star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sean Hayes, Good Night, Oscar,
Stephen McKinley Henderson, Between Riverside and Crazy, and Wendell Pierce, Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman.
Hawkins was nominated for a Tony for Best Actor in a Play for Six Degrees of Separation in 2017.
