Fear the Walking Dead season 8 episode 1 MVP

Fear the Walking Dead premiered its eighth season will a fantastic episode to kick off the last season of the series. “Remember What They Took From You” was a great opener that picked up where the previous season left off, introduced the ever-mysterious PADRE, and introduced some new characters.

The storyline didn’t waste time jumping ahead the promised seven years, which immediately gave viewers an inside look at PADRE. In season 7, some light was finally shed on what was long thought as a possible haven but found out to be an organization that abducted children to train up for some unknown cause. The first episode of season 8 revealed that while PADRE is most certainly in the business of training children for combat, they are also a well-run community with survival as a critical component.
Each week Undead Walking chooses an MVP from Fear the Walking Dead episode to highlight. Several characters were worthy of this honor this week, but one stood out above the rest.
THE MVP OF REMEMBER WHAT THEY TOOK FROM YOU – MO/WREN
Fear the Walking Dead – Mo
After the seven years had passed, Mo aka Wren was played by newcomer Zoey Merchant. She was a girl who wanted to prove herself to her trainer Dove (Jayla Walton), while feeling as if something was missing in her life.
She is a curious child who, by chance, comes upon Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), who has been imprisoned for seven years for, unbeknownst to Mo, trying to help Mo and her father escape the island. She showed much bravery in returning to the cell to assist Madison in her escape and closely watched Madison use her skills to defend herself.
When she meets Morgan, she is full of emotions that her tender age is unsure how to deal with but isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She shows move bravery when Madison sacrifices herself so Mo and Morgan can escape, but Mo wants to return and save her.
She is displeased that Morgan and Grace return her to PADRE when they could have escaped with her, but she uses her anger and unresolved emotions to aid her in her combat skills.
Mo will be a fascinating character to watch as this season progresses.
Fear the Walking Dead airs new episodes on AMC on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET. AMC+ airs the episodes early on Thursdays.
