Fear the Walking Dead season 8 Who is Finch?

Fear the Walking Dead season 8 has hit the ground running with an action-packed beginning and a brutal second episode. Fans of the series are pleased that the pace has picked up in the final season, giving hope that the series can end on a high note. In episode 2, “Blue Jay,” a new character named Finch was introduced. Who is he?
In season 8, episode 2, “Blue Jay,” viewers saw what June (Jenna Elfman) has been up to in the past seven years. She fled PADRE for her safety and took on a vigilante mission to relieve members of PADRE of their trigger fingers. She keeps them in a jar and listens to the victims’ pain and anguish over the walkies when they awaken to discover what has happened to them.
Later it is revealed that PADRE forced June, due to her medical experience, to experiment on humans bitten by walkers to discover a way to stop the spread. She couldn’t bear to do this, so she fled, began her vigilante work, and posted signs warning people about PADRE.
She comes upon her latest victims only to learn she knows them. It is Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista), and they aren’t alone. They are with a young boy named Finch (Gavin Warren), who desperately needs an appendectomy.

At the end of season 7, Dwight and Sherry would discover they are expecting a child. In season 8, after the seven-year time jump, the result of that pregnancy was Finch. Until this episode, he didn’t know they were his parents as it was the only way they could work at PADRE and keep an eye on him.
It is still unclear what hold PADRE has over these parents, like Dwight & Sherry, Morgan (Lennie James) & Grace (Karen David), who allow their children to be raised and trained in combat by the organization.
By the end of episode 2, “Blue Jay,” Finch was being used in Shrike’s experiments as she had Finch bitten by a walker while his parents looked on in horror. She has ordered June to begin the experiments to find a way to stop the spread of the infection.
Fear the Walking Dead premieres new episodes on AMC on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET and AMC+ three days early on Thursdays.
