Can you watch The Walking Dead: Dead City in the UK? UPDATE 6/12

The Walking Dead: Dead City is a spinoff of The Walking Dead series that will continue the stories of Maggie and Negan, two characters featured in the main series. This unlikely pair will team up to rescue Maggie’s son Hershel as they track the abductor to apocalyptic Manhattan. If you live in the UK will you be able to watch the premiere on June 18?

Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will reprise their roles as Maggie and Negan in the new spinoff titled The Walking Dead: Dead City. The series is set approximately two years after the events of the flagship series’ final episode. Maggie was raided, and during the raid, her son Hershel, now played by Ghostbusters: Afterlife actor Logan Kim is abducted by The Croat (Zeljko Ivanek), a former underling of Negan’s. Maggie needs his help to secure the release of her son.

To complicate things further, Negan is being pursued byPerlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles), a marshal from New Babylon, a federation of cities/states in Virginia.

How can I watch Dead City in the UK?

Geektown – TV News received some sad news regarding viewing of The Walking Dead: Dead City on Disney+ for viewers in the UK. After numerous conflicting responses from AMC and Disney, a Disney+ UK rep has confirmed that Dead City WILL NOT be coming to Disney+.

One of our Twitter friends, Judith (@RoodJood), checked and received confirmation from AMC that UK viewers can watch Dead City on Disney+.  This is exciting news for fans in the UK as they don’t always get airings of the spinoffs or special features. She also stated she hopes they aren’t just telling her this to shut her up! Hopefully for the faithful UK viewers of TWDU this information proves to be accurate.There has been no announcement from Disney confirming the airing of The Walking Dead: Dead City, so only time will tell if AMC was confirming or as Judith puts it trying to “shut her up!”

Undead Walking will update if Disney+ UK makes any official announcements.

The trailer below reveals what’s to be expected as far as the landscape of the new series that will drastically depart from the forested setting of The Walking Dead. Manhattan has been cut off since early in the outbreak when the US government blew up the bridge and tunnels connecting the island to the mainland.

Since that time a horde of walkers one million strong as amassed. Another interesting thing revealed in the trailer is that it appears there will be some variant walkers featured in Dead City. One looks to have super speed and another is a meld of multiple walkers.

The Walking Dead: Dead City premieres on June 18, 2023.
