The Walking Dead season 10 what happened at the end?
By Renee Hansen
The tenth season of The Walking Dead was a lengthened season because of the pandemic. The season consisted of three parts, with the third consisting of six bonus episodes featuring a smaller cast because of COVID filming restrictions. How did season 10 end?
The main segment of season 10 of The Walking Dead concluded with episode 16, “A Certain Doom,” which ended the Whisperer war and saw Maggie’s (Lauren Cohan) return. She brought some new friends and a much older Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller).
This episode also saw Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura), Ezekiel (Khary Payton), and Princess (Paola Lazaro) captured by the Commonwealth.
The Walking Dead season 10 ending
The bonus episode segment of season 10 of The Walking Dead consisted of six episodes, with the final being “Here’s Negan.” Based on the comic of the same title by Robert Kirkman, this served as an origin story of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan. His wife, Hilarie Burton Morgan, also starred in this episode as his onscreen wife, Lucille.
The episode begins with Carol (Melissa McBride) isolating Negan from the group at Alexandria so Maggie doesn’t have to see her husband’s killer walking the streets every day. He was one of Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) right hands when the Whisperers burnt Hilltop to the ground.
But giving Negan too much time alone allows him to remember the road that brought him to where he is now. This begins his walk down memory lane to a time when he was out of work, cheating on his wife, she finds out she has cancer, and a zombie virus outbreak occurs.
Viewers see that Negan was a terrible husband during this time but not the villain introduced in season 6. They will, however, find out what hardened him into Negan, leader of the Saviors.
After Lucille receives her cancer diagnosis, Negan begins to be the husband he always should have been, and the world goes to crap. He is attentive and loving and scours the earth for medicine for her. While on a medicine run, he meets up with some bad dudes, they hold him too long, and by the time he gets back, Lucille has committed suicide and turned into a walker.
This is where he becomes the ruthless Negan who will form the Saviors and wreak havoc over anyone they encounter.
In the present, he throws off the old Negan and returns to Alexandria as a new man. He can’t change his past actions but can change things moving forward.
