Two episodes remain in part 1 of Fear the Walking Dead’s eighth and final season. The previous episode, “King County,” took fans on a nostalgic walk back to Georgia, where Morgan Jones (Lennie James) first met Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and where he also endured the heartache of losing his family. This week Morgan is in a race against time as Grace (Karen David) has been bitten.
“King County” allowed Morgan to return to where he and his son Duane (Adrian Kali Turner) lived early in the outbreak during the pilot episode of The Walking Dead. Morgan stayed in this location as his wife’s walker roamed the streets. He could not put her out of her undead misery, which would prove a terrible mistake as she would eventually attack Duane. Only then could Morgan shoot her, but it was too late; she had already bitten his son, and he didn’t have the mental capacity to shoot his son’s walker.
In Fear the Walking Dead, viewers would learn Duane’s walker’s fate. During his “Clear” phase, when he was out of his mind and writing graffiti on the walls, Morgan took Duane to the attic of their former home and chained him there. This event was something Morgan blocked from his memory. He was finally able to put Jenny and Duane to rest.
This episode also saw Morgan’s new love, Grace, bitten, and now they are in a race against time to get her back to PADRE and to June (Jeana Elfman) and her experimental procedure to stop the spread of the virus.
