By Renee Hansen
Actor Jonathan Medina joined Fear the Walking Dead during the eighth and final season. He played a character named Adrian who was searching for her daughter, who PADRE had abducted. He encountered June (Jeana Elfman) and found out his daughter was dead and reanimated. Medina currently stars in a new series that airs on Freevee titled Primo.
Shea Serrano created this series for Amazon Freevee, a semi-autobiographical series that Serrano co-executive produces with Michael Schur. Primo debuted on May 19, 2023, releasing eight episodes for the first season.
Primo is a coming-of-age comedy based on Serrano’s upbringing in San Antonio, where a teen attempts to balance college aspirations, societal expectations, and a lively home life with his single mom and five uncles.
Primo currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “If what you want out of a streaming comedy is no longer being fulfilled by some of the baggier or darker options that have gotten a foothold in the last few years, Primo is what you’re looking for.” Kathryn VanArendonk New York Magazine/Vulture.
