Hilarie Burton Morgan posts heartfelt tribute to Jeffrey Dean Morgan
By Renee Hansen
You will be hard-pressed to find a more devoted and supportive couple than Walking Dead actors Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilaire Burton Morgan. The dynamic couple is not only devoted to their marriage but also to their family. This week JDM’s new series The Walking Dead: Dead City premieres on AMC, and Hilarie Burton Morgan shared a beautiful post on Instagram singing praises of her husband’s dedication to his family and career.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has portrayed Negan since season 6 of The Walking Dead. His first episode, “Last Day on Earth,” aired on April 3, 2016. Portraying a character for this length of time takes much time away from family. Since both of the Morgans are actors, they know what this career choice brings, but it doesn’t make being apart any easier.
They have two young children who adore their parents, as evident from the family photos they share on social media. And even though their careers keep them busy, they seem to be able to juggle family lives and work schedules very well.
Below is Hilaire Burton Morgan’s post, where she announces his new project Dead City and the premiere at Tribeca. She goes on to praise his work ethic when he was first cast as Negan and how he poured over the comic stories and scripts. She also states that love or hate Negan, that is all due to the talent her husband possesses.
She goes on to say that despite his heavy workload, he quickly flew back home so he wouldn’t miss soccer games, recitals, parties, etc.

Morgan will reprise his role as Negan for Dead City, where his character will partner with his long-time enemy Maggie (Lauren Cohan). Maggie needs Negan’s help rescuing her son Hershel (Logan Kim), who has been abducted by one of his former underlings, The Croat (Željko Ivanek), who she tracks to Manhattan. Negan is also on the run from a marshal from New Babylon, Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charlies).
