This week Fear the Walking Dead brings its midseason finale for the eighth and final season. Morgan (Lennie James) is experiencing serious grief over his recent loss and trauma from revisiting King County, Georgia. What will happen to him during this midseason episode?

This article contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead episodes 1-5 of season 8

In the previous episode, “More Time Than You Know,” Grace (Karen David) succumbed to her walker bite. She did so in the presence of her daughter Mo (Zoey Merchant), who had to try and fight off her mother’s reanimated form. Luckily Morgan arrived in time, and this time, he was able to save his child from being bitten by the undead form of her mother.

During episode 804, “King County,” Morgan traveled back to Georgia to put his son Duane (Adrian Kali Turner) to rest. He believed that he couldn’t be the father Mo needed unless he took care of his son. While traumatic, Morgan was able to face his past and put Duane and his wife
Jenny (Keisha Tillis) to rest next to each other.

Just when things looked to end on a happy note, his new love, Grace, was bitten. Then the rush was on to get her to June (Jenna Elfman), who had been conducting experimental treatment on walker bites. Sadly, this didn’t help Grace, and Morgan had to endure yet another horror of killing the walker of someone he loves.

The trailer for season 8 episode 6, “All I See Is Red,” shows that Morgan isn’t handling anything well at all.  At the beginning of season 8, Mo discovers some of Morgan’s graffiti on the walls of his houseboat. This was reminiscent of his “Clear” days on The Walking Dead. The trailer below shows that he is still in “clear” mode, but what that means for everyone involved, only time will tell.
