The Walking Dead: some of the greatest behind the scenes photos
By Renee Hansen
Fans of The Walking Dead have a gaping hole in their lives now that the series has aired its last season. This has put many in a state of nostalgia as they look back on a series that aired for 12 years. Throughout the series, AMC has released some fantastic behind-the-scenes photos; below, we will feature some of our favorites.
One behind-the-scenes photo theme that always sparks interest is the gooey and gross ones. Below we see executive producer, SPX master, and director Greg Nicotero as a walker with Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, and Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon.
Next, we see Okea Eme-Akwari and Cooper Andrews covered in walker’s guts for a scene from the series final season.
One of the greatest BTS shots of the series is Teo Rapp-Olsson as walker Sebastian striking a pose with the remains of a body he devoured.
And we can’t forget Josh Hamilton as walker Lance Hornsby with an arrow protruding from his neck.
This one is a look way back in season 3 when Hershel (Scott Wilson) had his leg chopped off after being bitten by a walker.
The Walking Dead – amazing behind the scenes images
Below are more fun, gory BTS shots.
In season 4, viewers met Pete Dolgen (Enver Gjokaj), who was part of Martinez’s (Jose Pablo Cantillo) group. He was looked on as weak by the Governor, who would kill him and chain him to the bottom of a lake, à la Jason Vorhees. This was also a throwback to the Governor keeping heads in the fish tanks back at Woodbury. These BTS images are an excellent look at this scene.
It’s always fun to see the cast goofing behind the scenes, especially in scenes that were so emotional on screen.
Fans know that the cast of The Walking Dead is a tight-knit group, and it is heartwarming to see all the affection shared BTS.
We love to see a great BTS photo featuring Melissa McBride, and this one is awesome!
Check out Lincoln, Nicotero, and the Teddy Bear Walker named Summer, played by Addy Miller in the pilot episode.
Here is another excellent shot from season 1.
This is just a small sampling of amazing behind the scenes images from the flagship series.
