The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon watch Daryl wash ashore in France

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will be the next new spinoff to release in the fall of 2023. This series will focus on Daryl, played by Norman Reedus. Viewers are curious to learn how Daryl ends up so far from home, and the new first-look video shows more information while a short clip (below) shows him as he arrives on the shores of France.

The clip features a voiceover by Daryl where he explains that he is from the Commonwealth and found trouble when he went in search of something else. When he left Carol (Melissa McBride) and the others, he went in search of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), does the trouble he finds have something to do with them? We know Rick is at the CRM (Civic Republic Military). Perhaps they are behind Daryl being sent across the ocean? They seem to be the only known organization large enough to pull something of this magnitude off.

Viewers also see the lifeboat from the previous teaser as it washes ashore and the Daryl face down in the sand along the coast. He is then seen limping along through a wasteland of cars and debris into a former city.

Reedus has promised that this spinoff will be much different than the main series. He has told fans to think of this series as more of a reset for Daryl than a continuation of his story. He was uncertain about reprising his role for another series, but when he learned it would be vastly different, he was excited about the project.

He serves as an executive producer on the series and has stated it is super poetic and beautiful.
