Does Walking Dead actor Jon Bernthal star in The Bear season 2?

Actor Jon Bernthal is well known in The Walking Dead universe for portraying Shane Walsh. He was the cunning and fearless hothead who was the best friend to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and, upon Rick’s death, became the lover of his wife Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies). He met his end in season 2 and proved the fact that everyone was infected when he reanimated, even though he didn’t receive a walker bite. Bernthal has starred in many memorable roles since he departed from The Walking Dead, including a cameo in The Bear. Does he also star in season 2 of that series?
The Bear is a comedy-drama created by Christopher Storer, known for his work on Bo Burnham’s Eight Grade. Storer directs with Joanna Calo, who served as a consulting producer on Netflix’s Beef. The first season of The Bear was released in July 2022, and the second in June 2023; both seasons hold a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series follows Carmy Berzatto, a young chef who, after the suicide of his brother, comes home to Chicago to run the family sandwich shop. The difficulty is that his brother left behind debits, a rundown building, and a group of unruly staff members for Carmy to handle.

Jeremy Allen White (Shameless) plays Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto and is joined by a talented cast. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson round out the main cast. And recurring roles are held by Oliver Platt, Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, José Cervantes, Richard Esteras, Chris Witaske, Robert Townsend, and Molly Gordon.
Throughout the two seasons, some awe-inspiring guest stars also appear in addition to Jon Bernthal, who does reappear in season 2. The sixth episode of season 2 is one of the most amazing episodes of the series. It includes the talent of guest stars Bernthal, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulsen, John Mulaney, and Gillian Jacobs.
The Bear has been nominated and won several awards across numerous categories. Season 2 was the most streamed TV series across all platforms in the US during the week of June 25, 2023.
