Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon spinoff, release date, trailer & more
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is the upcoming spinoff featuring the cross-bow welding Daryl Dixon in a journey overseas. Played by Norman Reedus since season 1 of The Walking Dead, Daryl survived the main series finale and was last seen riding off into the sunset on his motorcycle to search for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). The new spinoff will focus on Daryl, who gets washed ashore in France. You can read Undead Walking’s non-spoiler review of episode 1, and below are the details of this spinoff.
Several teaser clips and the official trailer have highlighted Daryl’s new adventure. The first teaser shows Daryl tied to an overturned lifeboat in the middle of the ocean. He says that he went looking for something and only found trouble.
The series has been touted as artistic, with a different tone and vibe from anything in TWDU. EP Greg Nicotero has talked about how this series gets back to the roots of the beginning of the original series with a singularly focused story.
