Within The Walking Dead fandom, numerous fan artists create mind-blowing fan art featuring fan-favorite characters. Some focus on the horror elements of the series, others create lifelike drawings and some soften the tone with humorous creations. Emma @sorrypookiee incorporated the latest craze, Barbie, into an adorable alternate version of Princess (Paola  Lázaro) and Mercer (Michael James Shaw).

If you already follow Sorry Pookie, you know her designs are often cute images featuring most characters. She even offers I (heart) my boyfriend/girlfriend shirts with many fan favorites as the GF/BF. Another very cool one is “The new worlds gunna need Rick Grimes” note that Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) wrote on the map in season 5.

The most recently posted art features two favorite characters who joined The Walking Dead series during the final seasons. Princess was introduced at the end of season 10 and featured in a bonus episode, “Splinter,” an emotional episode that revealed much about the character.

Mercer, General of the Commonwealth military, was introduced in the final season. He was an imposing figure who took his job very seriously and was loyal to the Commonwealth.

When Mercer and Princess met, things took a turn and they became romantically involved. During the final episode’s one-year time jump the couple were still in love with Mercer coming alongside Ezekiel (Khary Payton) as second in command of the new Commonwealth.

Below is the amazing artwork created by Sorry Pookie, featuring Princess and Mercer with the Barbie treatment.

The Walking Dead: Princess and Mercer

Fans would love to see Princess and Mercer return in a spinoff series. They could easily be the stars of their own series as things progress in the Commonwealth, or it would even be fun to see a Tales of The Walking Dead episode in which they are featured.

Only time will tell if Lázaro and Shaw will return to TWDU.
