Actress and musician Alicia Witt has faced much adversity recently but has overcome and now “finds joy in little things in life.” She is known for many roles during her career, including Paula on season 6 of The Walking Dead. In an interview with People, Witt shares the exciting news that on September 1, she will release a new six-single EP, Witness.

Witt recently starred as the Dandelion on the sixth season of The Masked Singer, whose identity was correctly guessed by actor Ken Jeong. The invitation to participate in the competition came on the day she received surgery after her breast cancer journey.

In June 2022, Witt would share that she had completed six rounds of chemo for breast cancer, treatments that began when her parents, Robert and Diane Witt, died. She shared her milestone on social media, including the video of her bell ringing to celebrate her final treatment.

Fans can pre-save the EP here and listen to the first single, “Witness.” The remaining five songs will be released on September 1, a collection of very personal songs. Witt told People that the songs describe her heart and experiences during the most challenging time of her life. And her witnesses were the tiny inner circle who stood by her during that time.

Witt will host several live-stream tour dates in September, with one in-person concert at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennesse, on September 26.

Below is the music video for “Witness,” a song written by Witt and Matt Wynn.

"I held on when the mountains moved. You shared my sentence stood strong and you saw me through."

Be sure to read her emotional interview with People, which includes some deep dives into the songs on her upcoming EP, Witness.
