The fifth spinoff of The Walking Dead series will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, September 10. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is filmed and set in France, making it the first spinoff with a primary focus on events of the apocalypse outside the US. Norman Reedus reprises his role as Daryl and finds himself out of his element in a foreign land. How many episodes in season 1 of Daryl Dixon?

This series follows Daryl as he arrives in France and begins to formulate a plan to return home. Along his journey, featuring the breathtaking backdrop of apocalyptic France, he will encounter new people who will complicate his ultimate goal of returning to his family in the US.

He will meet a group l’Union de I’Espoir – Union of Hope, made up of a group of nuns who reside at the Abbey of St. Bernadette. He meets Isabelle  (Clémence Poésy), who brings him back to the abbey, where she explains that she believes he has been sent by God.

Many more new characters will be introduced, some friendly, some not so much. Daryl’s presence in France has angered a political movement, The Cause, who are instructed to hunt him down and kill him.

The first season of Daryl Dixon consists of six episodes. This is the traditional episode count for the first seasons of The Walking Dead universe.

UPDATE: According to AMC Talk, AMC+ will air the first episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon on September 10  at 3am ET/12am PT.
