Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon episode 3 review, release date and new photos
By Renee Hansen
Die-hard fans of a universe like The Walking Dead are always excited to see new expansions of that world. Especially if they take chances, adding new elements to keep the story familiar while also feeling fresh and new. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon does just that and allows Norman Reedus to shine as the titular character who has always been overshadowed in the main series.
The third episode of Daryl Dixon, “Paris sera toujours Paris” (Paris Will Always Be Paris) begins with more amazing looks at apocalyptic France. The backdrop of the destruction of such fantastic architecture is hauntingly beautiful.
Events pick up where episode 2 left off with Daryl, Isabelle Sylvie, and Laurent traveling to The Nest, a location to keep Laruent safe and raise him to fulfill his destiny of what many believe to be the new messiah. There are stops along the route, and this episode introduces an amazingly outrageous character who reveals something truly unexpected and amazing.
This episode introduces several new characters; some are featured in the images below, and Daryl is becoming more frustrated with everyone because he just wants to leave to return home.
Codron returns in this episode, and viewers learn more about this character.
Quinn also returns as the owner of the Demimonde, a sexy underground nightclub. He also reveals something that probably isn’t too shocking to viewers but is quite a shock for another character.
Isabelle and Daryl have both been given a new chance at life in the apocalypse. They are both broken people who suffered greatly in life before the outbreak. The dynamic between the characters is exciting. And it is still strange to hear Daryl talk so much, but it is also wonderful to learn more about a character viewers have known since 2010.
One of my favorite parts of this episode is the inclusion of a French cover of “People Are Strange” by the Doors. There is also a fantastic homage to Jim Morrison, lead singer of The Doors.
