Walking Dead actress Danai Gurira attends Global Citizens Festival

The Global Citizen Festival occurred on September 23, 2023, in New York City in Central Park. This movement calls on world and corporate leaders and philanthropists to do their part in making a worldwide impact to defeat poverty, demand equity, and defend the planet. This year, actress and advocate Danai Gurira was once again in attendance at the event she has shown support for since 2016.
Gurira has attended the event several times, and this year, she supported youth climate activists and Global Citizen in Paris for Power Our Planet, a campaign urging the world’s most powerful countries to step up for the planet and tackle climate change.
Other notable celebrities included Chris Rock, Charlize Theron, Sophia Bush, Padma Lakshmi, Connie Britton, Carmelo Anthony, Gail King, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Busy Phillips, and others.
This year’s musical performers included Red Hot Chili Pepper, Ms. Lauren Hill, Anitta, and Jung Kook of BTS. Additional performers include DJ D-Nice, Conan Gray, and Sofia Carson.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live – Danai Gurira
Fans of Gurira are excited that she will be reprising her role as Michonne from The Walking Dead universe in a new spinoff slated to release in 2024. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will continue the epic love story of Michonne and her love, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), who have been separated for many years.
Fans were treated to a bonus scene at the end of The Walking Dead series finale episode, which gave viewers a look into what has transpired with MIchonne and Rick since departing the series. Neither of them has ever given up hope of being reunited with each other, and this series will feature that long-awaited reunion.
AMC Networks has come to an agreement with SAG-AFTRA to allow production for The Ones Who Live to resume.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2024.
