If you search The Walking Dead on Google, the question “Is The Walking Dead still on,” comes up as a popularly searched topic. Or, if you are a fan who posts Walking Dead-related content on social media, you will see trolls ask this often to bait fans into overreacting, which many of us are apt to do. But, despite what you see from very vocal Walking Dead haters, this series is still very popular, and the fandom consists of a massive number of fans worldwide.
So, why all the hate? Sometime during the course of the series, it became cool to hate it and express this hatred via social media. There have been many reasons, including that it didn’t stay true to the source material, favorite characters were killed off, actors left the series, it’s too violent, and the list goes on. This isn’t unique to The Walking Dead, but for some reason, people feel they need to be extremely vocal about their disdain for this series.
Fans of TWD tend to be very protective of the series, its cast, and crew and will become defensive no matter what. This shows the fan base’s loyalty, and it is an endearing thing. TWD Family is a unique fandom, and it’s something special to be a part of.
Will there be a season 12 of Walking Dead?
Haters will be happy to know that The Walking Dead series concluded its story on November 22, 2022.
Fans on the other hand were disappointed that after 12 years, 11 seasons, and 177 episodes, The Walking Dead series has come to an end. The final episode did a great job tying up many of the character’s storylines while leaving others open for continued stories in the long line of spinoffs.
AMC will not be releasing season 12 of The Walking Dead. Instead, the network has many spinoffs featuring some of the fan-favorite characters.
Fear the Walking Dead will begin airing the final six episodes on October 22. This will close out the series.
The Walking Dead: Dead City wrapped up its first season in June 2022. This series featured Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and has been renewed for a second.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will air its season 1 finale on October 15, featuring the titular character in a new adventure in France. This series has also been renewed for a second season.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will air in 2024 and continue the epic love story of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Dania Gurira).
