The fifth episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon was a magnificent chapter in Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) story. Full of action, this episode also revealed how Daryl came to be in France while also showing his tender side in his role as protector of Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi). With one episode remaining, seeing how this season sets things up for the second season will be exciting. Showrunner David Zabel talked with Entertainment Weekly regarding the season 1 finale.

The season finale of the Daryl Dixon spinoff, “Coming Home,” will air on AMC on October 15. The previous episode ended on a significant cliffhanger, and Daryl is forced to come against one of the test subject walkers, who has been transformed into a super walker.

Zabel tells EW, “I am so proud of the season finale.” He states that this episode has everything: drama, tenderness, intense action, heroism, and moral choices.”

The episode will also dig into Daryl’s past, revealing new information regarding his family.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season finale

Attendees of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon panel at New York Comic Con (NYCC) on Thursday, October 12, will watch the finale screening three days ahead of the AMC airing. This will be followed by a panel moderated by EW’s Dalton Ross, who will host a Q&A session with CCO of TWDU Scott M. Gimple, showrunner David Zabel, executive producer Greg Nicotero, and Daryl Dixon himself, Norman Reedus.

This panel will also feature a first-look sneak peek at the upcoming Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) series, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
