8. Tyreese Williams (Chad L. Coleman)

Introduced in season 3, Tyreese, a gentle giant, was the brother of Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green). In the midseason premiere of season 5, “What Happened and What’s Going On,” Tyreese loses his life, only one episode after Beth’s death. This was a double blow to the group and especially to their siblings.

Trying to fulfill Beth’s (Emily Kinney) wish of returning Noah (Tyler James Williams) to his family, the group takes him to the subdivision he previously lived in. Sadly for Noah, his family all died, but one of his twin brother’s walkers remained in the house and bites Tyreese. Noah runs for help as Tyreese slowly succumbs to his injury. This episode was an emotional but artistic one with Tyreese experiencing Hallucinations of people who died before him, including Lizzie, Mika, Beth, the Governor, and Martin (Chris Coy) from Terminus.

Another walker attacks him as he comes out of his hallucinations, although Tyreese kills it, he was bitten once again. The group arrives, and Michonne amputates his arm as Rick holds it down. They rush him to the vehicle as he continues hallucinating the horrors he has seen. He dies peacefully, watching the sunset through the car window.
