4. Beth (Emily Kinney)

During season 4, the prison fell, and the survivors were scattered. Daryl ended up paired with Beth as they two traveled on trying to find anyone who survived while trying to survive themselves. One night, Beth is abducted by a car with a cross on the window, and Daryl is helpless to rescue her.

She would wake up in Grady Memorial Hospital, which was run by Dawn Lerner (Christine Woods). The hospital would locate injured people (or harm them), abduct them, treat them, and then make the patients work off their care.

This is where Beth met Noah, and they formed a friendship. After helping Noah escape, Carol was brought into the hospital, as she and Daryl had been searching for Beth meet Noah, and then she was hit by a car. Daryl and Noah bring Rick and others to the city to rescue the ladies. They hold some of Dawn’s people hostage and arrange a trade, Beth & Carol, for her officers. Things go smoothly unless Dawn demands Noah as well.

Knowing Dawn’s true nature, Beth pulls out scissors she hid in her cast and stabs her in the shoulder. The action causes Dawn to fire her gun and shoot Beth in the head, killing her instantly. Rick and Daryl draw their guns on Dawn as she begs for mercy. Daryl doesn’t hesitate to shoot her.

This was quite a shock to viewers as the sitution seemed under control. Beth wasn’t a favorite for everyone, but her death was a truly heartbreaking scene, especially when viewers then saw Maggie’s reaction.
