Melissa McBride announced for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2
By Renee Hansen
Rumors have circulated for months regarding Melissa McBride joining the cast of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Fans were overjoyed when this information was leaked. McBride bowed out of the project’s first season but will now reprise her role as Carol Peletier in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.
AMC made some fantastic announcements at the 2023 New York Comic Con (NYCC) event for the Daryl Dixon series and The Ones Who Live, as well as a new look at the final chapter of Fear the Walking Dead.
The fifth episode of season 1 of the Daryl Dixon series featured a voice cameo by Carol where she tried to relay news to Daryl before the connection was dropped. She told him something or someone came back, but it is anyone’s guess who or what this could be.
Daryl Dixon – Book of Carol (Melissa McBride)
Carol and Daryl are one of the most famous duos in The Walking Dead universe. They share previous trauma that has molded them into who they are, and the apocalypse allowed them to break free and become who they were truly meant to be.
It is no surprise that Carol and Daryl will be reunited, especially when Daryl promised to return to the Commonwealth in a week. When this didn’t happen, Carol, no doubt, headed out in search of him.
Reedus has teased fans with McBride’s return, saying that Carol is a “very big part of Daryl’s story” and that some familiar faces could appear in the spinoff.
They are the only two characters to be featured in every season of The Walking Dead. Carol, Daryl, Rick (Andrew Lincoln), and Morgan (Lennie James) are the original characters who outlived the series.
