Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman attended the Amazon Studios panel at New York Comic Con 2023 (NYCC). Here, the studio revealed the official trailer for the second season of Invincible, another one of Kirkman’s comics that has been adapted into a series.

Invincible is an adult animated series that stars Walking Dead and Beef actor Steven Yeun as Mark Greyson/Invincible, son of superhero Omni-man, voiced by J. K. Simmons, and the first season focused on Mark adapting to his newly discovered superpowers. The second season sees Mark trying to escape the shadow of his father, who was portrayed as the most powerful protector of Earth.

When does Invincible season 2 premiere?

Amazon Prime Video will begin airing the second season of Invincible on November 3, 2023. The remaining episodes of this season will air in 2024.

With his father removed from the scenario, the new season will see Mark train to become a real hero and focus on his relationship with Amber (Zazie Beetz).

Returning characters in season 2 include Atom Eve (Gillan Jacobs) and Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins).

Invincible season 2 cast

In season 1, several Walking Dead actors voiced characters, including Chad L. Coleman as Martian Man, Lauren Cohan as War Woman, Michael Cudlitz as Red Rush, Lennie James will voice Darkwing, Sonequa Martin-Green as Green Ghost, and Ross Marquand will voice both Immortal and Aquarius.

It has been reported that Marquand and Payton will return to season 2, and Fear TWD actor Cliff Curtis has also been cast in an undisclosed role.

During the NYCC panel, Kirkman stated,  “It’s possible that there might be more Walking Dead alums popping up in Invincible at one point.” While he has made no promises, he previously stated he can’t think of a TWD actor he wouldn’t want to be involved in the series.

Several months ago, Walking Dead actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan teased fans with an image of some reading he was doing, parts 2 & 3 of the Invincible compendium. This led to fans wondering if he was announcing his involvement in the series. No official announcement has been released, so fans will likely have to wait until the Invincible premiere in November.

It will be exciting to see who else joins the cast of Invincible in the second season.
