Fans of the FX series Fargo are excited for the upcoming fifth season. The official trailer has been released, and The Walking Dead and She-Hulk actor Nick Gomez is featured. Gomez was announced as joining the cast for the upcoming season in October 2022. Take a look at the trailer below.

The series is based on Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1995 film created and written by Noah Hawley, known for Bones and The Alibi. The critically acclaimed series has won several Primetime  Emmys, including Outstanding Miniseries in 2014. The Coen brothers were so impressed with Hawley’s script that they signed on as executive producers for the series.

Fargo is an anthology series where each story is connected to the same world. The black comedy crime drama features a new cast each season, with some carry-over, and each season is set in a different location and era. Season 4 was set in the 1950s as a noir-ish crime story in Kansas City, Missouri. The fifth season, set in the Midwest in 2019, is a dark mystery in Minnesota and North Dakota.

This season tells of two families, The Lyons and the Tillmans. Dot Lyon is an unassuming housewife whose past comes back to haunt her. While many have forgotten the events of her past, Sheriff Roy Tillman has not. He, along with his son Gator and a drifter named Ole Munch, have hunted her for years.

When does Fargo season 5 release?

FX will begin rolling out new episodes of Fargo on November 21, 2023, at 10 p.m. ET. Two episodes will be released that night, with new episodes released weekly on Tuesday, leading to the season finale on January 16, 2024. The new episodes will be released on Hulu the following day.

Gomez joins this season as Agent Joaquin. Other cast members in the all-star lineup include Jon Hamm,  Juno Temple, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Joe Keery, Lamorne Morris, Richa Moojani, David Rysdahl, Sam Spruell, Jessica Pohly, and Dave Foley.
