The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 casts The Resident alum Manish Dayal
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon had such an impressive first season that AMC has renewed the series. The upcoming season will be titled TWD Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol and will highlight Carol’s (Melissa McBride) journey in her search for Daryl (Norman Reedus). Deadline reports that The Resident actor Manish Dayal has been cast in the spinoff’s second season.
In a significant recurring role, Dayal will portray Ash, who originates from Boston but relocated to Maine after the outbreak to the family’s vacation home. His apocalyptic life revolves around a strict schedule where he flies his retrofitted single-engine plane each day and takes mysterious visits to his greenhouse.
In the first season of Daryl Dixon, Daryl found himself out of fuel while on his travels, which took him to the coast of Maine. He was then forced to work wrangling walkers to earn more fuel but was taken hostage on a ship bound for France. At the end of the season, Carol was seen searching for Daryl in Maine, the last location he contacted her from.
What else does Daryl Dixon’s Manish Dayal star in?
Dayal most recently starred as Dr. Devon Pravesh in six seasons of The Resident, a medical drama that airs on Fox, where he also served as a director. He is also well known for his role as Hassan in The Hundred-Foot Journey with Helen Mirren. He has also starred in Netflix’s Holidate and Viceroy House.
He will join Reedus and McBride in the Daryl Dixon spinoff with season 1 actors lémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi and Eriq Ebouaney.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol will debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2024.
