Actor Jeff Kober is well-known for many roles throughout his career including his role as Joe, the leader of the Claimers, a ruthless group Daryl (Norman Reedus) is welcomed into. What else does he star in?

Kober’s Joe is famous within TWDU as one of Rick Grimes’ (Andrew Lincoln) most gruesome kills of the series. Joe was a violent man who set rules his group must follow, or they could face cruel or lethal consequences.

In the season 4 finale, “A,” Joe threatens Rick’s son Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) with rape and more; it proves Rick’s undoing, and he rips out Joe’s throat with his teeth. It was an outstanding way to take out this brutal man and shocked viewers of the series.

Walking Dead actor Jeff Kober -list of  movies and shows

Kober has a long-running acting career with over 141 acting credits to his name. His first came in 1980 series V, in a non-billed role. He portrayed Cyrus Renault in General Hospital for several seasons, of which he earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. He has also starred in High Desert, Walker, NCIS: Los Angels, Big Dogs, and more.

His first big screen role was in the 1986 movie Out of Bounds, where he played his first “bad guy” character, Roy Gaddis. Other movies include The First Power, Tank Girl, Defining Magic, World Without Waves, the 2007 remake of The Hill Have Eyes 2, Sully, and many others.

He is well-known for portraying Jacob Hale Jr. in Sons of Anarchy and Dodger in China Beach. Many know him from his role in the cult horror series Kindred: The Embraced as Daedalus, a role he reprised for a special feature titled  “Daedalus: The Last Will and Testament,” for the DVD set for the series.

Fans enjoyed his appearance in episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and New Girl. 

Kober also starred in a Walking Dead webisode, “The Walking Dead: Red Machete,” which chronicled the journey of the famed red machete that Rick used to kill Gareth (Andrew J. West).
