In October 2023, AMC released the first season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The series featured Norman Reedus in a reprisal of his role as Daryl, but this time, the story is set in France. It seemed an absurd notion initially, but this series is the fresh take on the apocalypse that The Waking Dead universe needed and fans deserved.
Daryl has always been a lone wolf at heart and has gone on his own several times. During the final scene of TWD series, Daryl says his goodbyes and rides off into the sunset on his trusty motorcycle. The plan is to seek other like-minded people to add to their communities and see if he can locate Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira).
The new series was a cinematic masterpiece set to a score that is so out of place in this undead world, but it allowed France to retain that romantic feel. Daryl was a fish out of water but, like a true survivor, quickly acclimated to his new surroundings. He encounters several new people who have amazing stories of their lives prior to and during the current climate of the world.
The series’ first season did so well that AMC quickly renewed the series.
Daryl Dixon season 2?
The second season holds a treat for fans of Carol Peletier. Melissa McBride, who was unable to partake in the first season, is now slated to star in the second. The series’ final scene set up her including in the upcoming season, subtitled The Book of Carol.
During the fifth episode of Daryl Dixon, he found himself in Maine, working for fuel. He befriended a radio operator (Avent Strangel) who helped him contact Carol at the Commonwealth. The call was cut short, but Daryl did promise Carol that he would return within a week. When this didn’t happen, because he was thrown on a boat bound for promise, it is no surprise that Carol went searching for him.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol will be released in 2024 on AMC and AMC+.
