“Blood Letting” Season 2, Episode 2 – Maggie helping Lori

“Blood Letting” is a heartfelt episode. We see the flashback of Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) finding out about Rick (Andrew Lincoln) getting shot. She talks about a fight they had and how she wishes he would just have it out with her. Then Shane shows up, and she knows something isn’t right. She has to figure out how to tell her son about his father getting shot.

Fast forward to the apocalypse, Rick is running while carrying Carl (Chandler Riggs), who has been shot. Rick is making his way to Hershel, who he can help his son. Now, Lori and the gang have heard the shot, but they don’t know what has happened.

Maggie (Lauren Cohan) takes off to find Lori so she can be with her son. This woman’s moment shows Maggie’s character as a woman who will go out of her way to help another woman whom she hasn’t even met. Maggie knows that this child could die without his mother even knowing what has happened. She voluntarily takes off on her horse to search for Lori.

She rides in shouting for Lori, grabs her up, and takes off to Hershel’s farm. Now, Lori has to learn about her son getting shot. Maggie reassures Lori that Carl is alive. If this isn’t a great example of women supporting women, I don’t know what is.
