“Them” Season 5. Episode 10 – Maggie and Sasha share heartache

In “Them,” the group has been on the road for quite a while with little or no food and water. It has been tough going. Maggie and Sasha have both suffered significant losses. Maggie asks Sasha (Sonnequa Martin-Green), “How long do we got,” and Sasha answers 60 miles. Maggie tells her she wasn’t talking about that. This short conversation shows that morale is low; they are thirsty, starving, and unsure how long they can last.

Later in the episode, the group has just survived a storm in the real sense of the word but also figuratively. They have been on the road for quite some time. The recent losses of Beth and Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) have really affected Maggie and Sasha. Their bond is strong because they have both recently lost a sibling, siblings that were very dear to each of them.

The morning after the literal storm, Maggie wakes Sasha to go outside and watch the sunrise. Sasha tells Maggie that Noah confided in her that he didn’t think he could survive, and that is the way she feels too. Maggie tells her they are both going to make it. They tried to listen to the music box that Daryl fixed for Maggie, but it didn’t work. They share a laugh, and then Aaron (Ross Marquand) approaches them. They both draw their weapons on him since they don’t know him, and the music box starts to play.

Sharing a heartache sometimes alleviates a bit of that pain and helps you to go on longer than you think you can.
