The Walking Dead series features many badass women in its story. Women who have overcome and endured losses that would make an ordinary person buckle. One of these badass women is the formerly abused wife, Carol Peletier. Will Carol be featured in her own spinoff in The Walking Dead universe?

Melissa McBride has portrayed Carol since season 1 of the main series. She, along with Norman Reedus, Lennie James, and Andrew Lincoln, are three actors who portrayed characters from the first season who survived, with McBride and Reedus still staring in the series through the final episode. James crossed over to Fear the Walking Dead, and Lincoln left the main series in season 9.

Many fans long to see Carol’s return to the storyline, and those fans are about to see their wish come true.

In 2024, AMC will release the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, subtitled The Book of Carol. This will bring Carol back into the fold and watch as she searches for Daryl, who, during a radio call, promised to return to the Commonwealth in a week. But viewers are privy to the fact that he was thrown onto a ship bound for France.

One theory I talked about is that perhaps the second season will be told from Carol and Daryl’s POV, her in the United States and he in France. Will there actually be a reunion of these characters? I sure hope so!

At the end of Daryl Dixon season 1, Daryl was at a crossroads. He could see the boat that would begin his journey home, and suddenly Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) appeared, happy with himself to have tracked Daryl. Which option will Daryl choose? Of course, he chooses Laurent, a boy who some believe will lead the revival of humanity. Daryl has grown fond of the lad and has the child’s best interest in mind, whereas others have their own agendas.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol premieres on AMC and AMC+ in 2024.
