The Walking Dead: Dead City is one of many spinoffs of AMC's apocalyptic series The Walking Dead. This series is the first direct spinoff that serves as a sequel to the main series, which aired on AMC for eleven seasons and concluded in 2022. Dead City continues the story of long-time enemies Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). AMC recently released the official trailer for the upcoming second installment of the show, which premieres on AMC and AMC+ beginning May 4. (watch it below)
Dead City premiered its first season on AMC and AMC+ on June 18, 2023. The series is the fourth spinoff in The Walking Dead universe and the first to focus on characters originally introduced in the flagship series. Viewers had their doubts that a story about Maggie and Negan teaming up would even make sense, but it was done perfectly.
If you have yet to watch the first season of Dead City or need a refresh, it is now streaming on Netflix, along with several other AMC originals.

The first season found Maggie and Negan on the same side, for a time, but season 2 will pit them against one another once again. If you haven't watched it yet, AMC has released the opening minutes of the upcoming season. (watch below)
Dead City season 2 cast
Cohan and Morgan return for the second season, as will several other characters from the debut season. The returning cast includes Gaius Charles as Perlie Armstrong, Željko Ivanek as The Croat, Mahina Napoleon as Ginny, Lisa Emery as The Dama, Logan Kim as Hershel Rhee, Jasmin Walker as The Prefect, and Pallavi Sastry as Nina.
- Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy, American Primeval) as Bruegel, the leader of the toughest gang in Manhattan.
- Dasha Polanco (Orange is the New Black) as Major Lucia Narvaez, a member of the New Babylon community.
- Jake Weary (It Follows, How to Blow Up A Pipeline) as Christos, but no details have been revealed.
- Keir Gilchrist (Atypical, It Follows) plays Benjamin Pierce, another character that no information has been revealed.
- Pooya Mohseni (Big Dogs, Madam Secretary) as Roksana, but no details have been given.
