And now, Andrew Lincoln, aka the iconic face of Rick Grimes, has a new project that’s already generating buzz. Those who are in the United Kingdom will already be familiar with this project because it was aired on ITV a couple of months back. However, this will be the first time viewers in the United States will get to set their sights on it.
It's a new psychological thriller series called Coldwater, and it's headed to Paramount+ early next year!
Paramount+ sets January 2026 premiere date for Coldwater
We've known about Coldwater coming to Paramount+ since October. There was a whole press release about it. However, an official premiere date was not announced at the time. All that was revealed about the release details was that it would be coming out sometime in early 2026. Of course, that meant it could premiere anywhere from January through March.
Now, we know exactly when. Hopefully, you're ready to mark this date down. Coldwater will officially premiere on Paramount+ on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026. However, it's important to mention that the show will only be available to Paramount+ subscribers on the Premium plan. So if you're not already subscribed, now might be the perfect time to upgrade your account to make sure you don’t miss a single suspense-filled episode.

Streaming services typically release episodes all at once for binge-watching, allowing viewers to consume an entire season in a single sitting. But Paramount+ has opted for a weekly release schedule for Coldwater, meaning fans will get a new episode every Friday.
This approach not only builds anticipation and gives viewers time to digest each twist and turn, but it also encourages discussion, speculation, and online conversation between episodes, much like the water-cooler excitement that surrounded The Walking Dead during its original run. With six episodes total, the series will span six weeks.

David Ireland created Coldwater. The thriller series stars Lincoln as John, a stay-at-home dad whose life is upended after a violent incident in London pushes him to relocate his family to the remote Scottish town of Coldwater. What starts as a fresh start quickly turns unsettling, as John befriends the charming neighbor Tommy, only to realize that not everything or everyone in this seemingly quiet town is as it appears. The cast also includes other talented actors such as Ewen Bremner, Indira Varma, and Eve Myles.
