Paradise is a new political thriller from Hulu that is receiving rave reviews in its first season, which premiered in Jan. 2025. The series is led by  Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, and James Marsden, and in S01E07, The Walking Dead: World Beyond actor Joe Holt appeared in a guest starring role.

The series was created by Dan Fogelman, known for Crazy, Stupid, Love, and This Is Us, and before the conclusion of season 1, it was renewed for a second season. Brown and Fogelman are executive producers, along with John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, and Steve Beers.

The series is set in a city-sized bunker located underground that is inhabited by some of the world's most influential people after a doomsday event. Paradise follows Xavier Collins (Brown), a United States Secret Service agent tasked with discovering who is responsible for a shocking murder that disrupts the tranquility of the community.

Marsden portrays US President Cal Bradford and Nicholson as Samantha Redmond, the world's richest self-made woman and decision maker for the bunker. They are joined by Krys Marshall, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV.

Holt shared the news of his role in the seventh episode of Paradise via social media.
