Wednesday season 2 part 1 was released on Netflix only a few days ago, and it's already shot up to the No. 1 spot on the streamer's top 10 TV shows list. However, this surge in popularity isn’t surprising, considering how long fans had to wait to reunite with Wednesday Addams and her haunting escapades at Nevermore Academy.

With the first four episodes of the season available to stream, there are a lot of things that happen over a short span. Wednesday finds herself entangled in another supernatural mystery while also trying to find out the identity of her stalker. This season also spends time on other Addams family members' storylines, which was exciting to see.

But there's one particular storyline in season 2 that we're sure The Walking Dead fans will enjoy and love, and it's involving Wednesday's younger brother, Pugsley. We're about to enter spoiler territory going forward, so if you haven't caught up yet, now's the time to stop reading and watch the episodes first!

MAJOR spoilers are ahead from Wednesday season 2.

Slurp the zombie is introduced in Wednesday season 2

For the second time in this popular horror series, a zombie makes an appearance. In the first season, Joseph Crackstone, a pilgrim from the 1600s who despised outcasts, was brought back to life as a zombie by his descendant, Laurel Gates/Marilyn Thornhill. Wednesday defeats him in the season 1 finale, and we hear no more of him.

But in Wednesday season 2, there's a new zombie in town after Pugsley accidentally uses his newfound electric powers to bring back a former Nevermore student. It all happens in the first episode of the season. One night, Nevermore student Ajax tells Pugsley and other fellow students the haunting tale of the Skull Tree. It's about a young boy with a clockwork heart who ends up losing his life after a tragic accident. His body was then buried at the foot of the Skull Tree near Nevermore Academy. But this was believed to be only a fictional story.

Pugsley, driven by curiosity, goes to the Skull Tree at night to find out if the spooky story is real. And it turns out that it is. The boy was actually buried there. Pugsley ends up tripping over the tree and accidentally uses his electric powers on the ground. This brings the young boy from the story back to life as a zombie, whom Pugsley eventually names Slurp.

Throughout the rest of part 1, Pugsley and his roommate Eugene struggle to keep Slurp hidden from their classmates and the staff at Nevermore. But despite their efforts, Slurp repeatedly escapes confinement, attacking others and even consuming the brains of several victims. Truthfully, the scenes involving Slurp eating brains are the most gruesome and intense scenes of the season so far. They're not as graphic as The Walking Dead because the show is rated TV-14. But they're pretty disturbing.

Based on how part 1 ends, it doesn't look like we've seen the last of Slurp either. So if you've been looking for more zombie content, you should definitely check out Wednesday season 2!

Wednesday season 2 part 2 is set to be released on Netflix on Sept. 3.
