Actress Clémence Poésy joined The Walking Dead universe in her role as Isabelle in Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol. She is one of the first people Daryl (Norman Reedus) meets upon his arrival in France. Another role she is well known for is that of Fleur Delacour in three of the Harry Potter films. Next, she will be seen in the BBC and CBS historical drama King and Conqueror.

Written by Michael Robert Johnson, known for Sherlock Holmes and The Frankenstein Chronicles, the series was created and executive produced by Michael Robert Johnson, with the first episode directed by Baltasar Kormákur (Trapped, Everest, Adrift). Filming for the project began in Iceland in March 2024 and concluded in July. The series will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, with Paramount Global Content Distribution will handle worldwide distribution.

The story tells of Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy, two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The series features a clash that defined the future of a country for thousands of years, which stretched decades through a pair of interconnected family dynasties. Two allies with no design on the British throne were forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war to possess its crown.

The eight-part series stars James Norton (Little Women, Mr. Jones, Happy Valley) as Harold, Earl of Wessex, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones, Mama, Oblivion) as William, Duke of Normandy.
